Company History

S&A’s roots stem back to the 1930’s. Our founder established Vegetation Surveys, Inc. in Northborough, MA and was one of the pioneers of the Gas Leak Detection industry. In 1967, the company changed its name from Vegetation Surveys, Inc. to Surveys & Analysis, Inc. to reflect more modern techniques of gas leak survey. Our corporate office is now in Shrewsbury, MA. The company has been in continuous operation and providing gas leak detection for ¾ of a century. During our history we have provided services to Gas Utilities in every state in the continental United States. Surveys & Analysis, Inc. has successfully inspected gas facilities of over 45 million homes and businesses.
